The first being a Joomla User Group meetup in Port Elizabeth over the weekend, with Ryan Ozimek as special guest, and the second a Special Monday Meetup in Cape Town, and again with Ryan as our special guest. The Cape Town event was kindly hosted at the offices of Wobble.
Ryan is a Director (and former President) of Open Source Matters, and part of the Joomla! leadership team. He spoke on: "Building a profitable Joomla-based business while contributing to the community".
I helped organize the Cape Town event, and we plan to look at doing a few more smaller evening events this year.
